The spicy and tangy taste of tomato salsa gives a nice kick to your taste buds and makes you have some more. This recipe is an ideal dip for Nachos chips or Doritos chips and can even be had on fajitas.

Fellow Salsa lovers, this recipe is for you. This refreshing and flavourful red salsa offers a fresh and authentic taste of Mexican dip. Do you know what’s the best part? It’s so easy to make with very minimal ingredients. And is a favourite dip recipe for bachelors who mainly rely on chips. Also, it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare this. If you are having a food processor then preparation will be quicker.

Moreover, the earthly flavours and aroma that you get from roasted cumin seeds, Jalapeños and hot dried red chillies are just ultimate. Perfect ingredients are the key to the texture and taste of salsa. If you like me who loves mild-salsa then only add half Jalapeño, ribs removed and deseeded. I have used Kashmiri dried red chillies, these are mildly hot and adds a red colour.

Tips for selecting ingredients:

  1. The most important ingredient is TOMATO. I would recommend you to use gorgeous red and ripe tomatoes, their flavour is the key. Roast the tomatoes till they get charred spots and there you go. You can even use the storebought roasted tomatoes.
  2. Secondly, roast cloves of garlic and onions to enhance the flavour of the salsa.
  3. Add deseeded Jalapeños to the food processor or in the blender and do not blend into a smooth paste. Stop blending when the ingredients are chopped into tiny bits.

Tomato salsa is quick to prepare yet tasty and yummy. Serve it to your guests on your get together and leave them surprised. This salsa tastes so much better than store-bought salsas that you’ll never go back. It’s true restaurant-style salsa. Serve it with tortilla chips for the perfect party dip or savoury snack.
